Used by law enforcement for over 600 years, the hall was first documented in 1375, when the Normans appointed a sheriff to maintain order and collect taxes.
What do we know?
Most famous for its jail and courtroom. Men, women, and children were sentenced and hanged for crimes as minor as theft. Many undeserving people lost their lives here, young and old.
