Abington Museum

Step into the realm of the mysterious and supernatural at Abington Park Museum, an exquisite historical gem located in the heart of the UK. The original manor house was the family home of John Hall, his wife Susanna and their daughter Elizabeth.  Elizabeth was the granddaughter of William Shakespeare.  Now a museum, this venue should be on your bucket list for a good reason! During its long history, Abington has also been a working farm and an asylum for the mentally ill. The nearby Abington gallows were used for five hangings in 1612 following the Northamptonshire witch trials, amongst the first in England to use trial by ducking stool. Rich in history and elegant architecture, it becomes the perfect backdrop for an otherworldly adventure. As night falls, the air becomes charged with an enigmatic energy, inviting you to explore the museum’s hidden corners and corridors. Within the grounds of Boughton sits the Dower House, a 17th-century House that has been locked up for 30 years and fallen into disuse. Over the years, it has been used for many films, including Les Misérables (2012). It offers a unique opportunity to explore this time capsule, complete with its numerous rooms, attics, stairwells, and passageways. Haunted Heritage has been granted exclusive access to the derelict property. Is it haunted? Now inhabited primarily by the ghosts and spirits that remain here, footsteps are often heard approaching, but no one ever appears. Dark figures have been seen on the staircase, and shapes move quickly from room to room. What awaits us? On our first visit, we felt a real sense of being watched as we wandered through the empty, derelict rooms. The house and all its rooms remain unchanged, stuck in time. Strange occurrences have happened during our investigations; Many of our team and guests have reported whispers in empty corridors, heavy footsteps on the stairs where no one is there, and shadowy figures in two areas. Strange phenomenon – On our last visit, a member of our team received a strange message over her two-way radio. Other team members only heard static… but someone was saying ‘HELLO’ Now it’s your turn. With full use of our ghost-hunting equipment, you will spend the night in the dark.
