Ghost Hunt Newstead Abbey

Our Ghost Hunt at the fantastic Nottingham Newstead Abbey!   Newstead was built in the 12th Century as a monastic Abbey with over 800 years of history.  However, it retains its original medieval characteristics and is a beautiful place to visit. Could you help us discover whose ghosts still reside here?   Newstead was also home to the famous poet Lord Byron, and you can wander through his private apartments, the Victorian kitchen and room displays. Many ghosts have been seen at Newstead Abbey, Lord Byron himself reported seeing a ghost in one of the Abbey’s bedchambers. Another ghost seen at the Abbey is called the “Rose Lady”. This entity is seen in a passageway at the bottom of the staircase. When the Rose Lady appears, she is always accompanied by the scent of roses or lavender that lingers after she disappears. Ghost Hunt – Cromford Mills – Paranormal Investigation

Deposit Option Available Cromford Mills are nestled in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Built in 1771 by Sir Richard Arkwright, it is the world’s first successful water-powered cotton spinning mill and a cornerstone of the Industrial Revolution. World Heritage Site The mill is Grade I listed and is now the centrepiece of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site. From then until 1790, he continued to develop the mills, warehouses, and workshops that now form the Cromford Mills site. Historical England declared the Cromford mill complex “one of the country’s 100 irreplaceable sites.” Leading the Way In 1769, Richard Arkwright patented a water frame to use the extra power of a watermill after he had set up a horse-powered mill in Nottingham. Arkwright chose the site at Cromford because it had a year-round supply of warm water. Young Workers Employing nearly 200 workers, Arkwright built housing for them. Most employees were women and children, the youngest only seven years old. In addition, the children were given six hours of education a week to undertake the record-keeping for the Mills. The End of an era… maybe not The cotton mill ceased operation in the 19^th century, and the buildings were used for other purposes. In 1979, the Grade I listed site was bought by the Arkwright Society, which began the long task of restoring it to its original state and continues to do so today. Ghost Hunt – Donington Le Heath Manor House

Join us in one of the oldest houses in Leicestershire. They are also known as Donington Le Heath Manor House, dating back to 1290! With centuries of history and many families who have considered this beautiful house their home, it is well worth a visit… but after dark, this place has a different atmosphere. There have been many ghost sightings; housemaids and children have been seen flitting about the kitchen and bedrooms by staff and members of the public. Over the years, it has been used for many films, including Les Misérables (2012). Haunted Heritage has been granted exclusive access to conduct its first-ever paranormal investigation. Is it haunted? Staff have reported numerous strange phenomena. Now inhabited primarily by the ghosts and spirits that remain here, footsteps are often heard approaching, but no one ever appears. Dark figures have been seen on the staircase, and shapes move quickly from room to room. What awaits us? Ghost Hunt Delapré Abbey, Northamptonshire

History at its finest! –  WoW!! Delapré has played a big part in our history during the War of the Roses. The grounds are a nationally protected Wars of the Roses battlefield… sightings of residual hauntings of a battle still play out today. In 1460, the Battle of Northampton between King Henry VI, Henry, and the Earl of March. The King was taken and held prisoner within the Abbey overnight before being transported to London the next day. So, what spirits continue to live in their family home? National Emergency Services Museum

The building’s walls house over one hundred years of history, character and events. With the building and its surroundings, this spooky station holds some fantastic stories from the sad souls who spent time in the building’s police cells to the service men and women who lived and worked there.
