Ghost Hunt Kelmarsh Hall Northampton: Kelmarsh Hall is a elegant 18th – century country house building located just over the boarder from Market Harborough. A Grade 1 listed building is set back from the road with views across the countryside. This hall takes your breath away.
Elegantly built in 1730s for the Hanbury family it has seen many owners and families including the formidable Lancaster family and most notably Nancy Lancaster, society decorator. She lived in the Hall twice with different husbands and her last marriage was not a happy one.
The venue is extremely large and we have been allowed access to most areas. The ground floor rooms are large and stunning with the main withdrawing room of particular interest to us. The upper floors of this building were the servant’s quarters with many rooms to explore.
Down stairs – This area has been recently opened and now allows us to walk where the butlers, footmen, laundry maids and cooks all worked, such an atmospheric and active area.
Ghost Hunt Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton - past events
Upon walking into the Hall, our medium Gill picked up on a very elegant and reserved female, unaware of who she was we continued our walk through of the hall. At certain locations Gill became aware of several incidents that occurred in this lady’s life and upon speaking the Kelmarsh staff, it sounded very much like Nancy Lancaster.
During the walk on the upper floors there was a lot of unaccounted for knocks, taps on doors and while we were standing outside we could clearly hear bangs from inside the rooms, we checked each room with the Kelmarsh staff only to find nobody there?
Down stairs – Strong residual energy with haunting activity in several work areas! WOW.
